Great video just bought one, and the previous owner didnt know the code either so thanks
Would I be able to do this on a 2018 Silverado 1500?
Would I be able to do this on a 2018 Silverado 1500?
Can you tell me which of the two white plugs in the BCM you tapped into? I have a 2016 Silverado 1500 - have the switch the wire harness, but trying to get the hook up to work. I have two white plugs in the BCM: one right next to the brown plug (which already has OEM wire in slot #12) and another on the end of the BCM, closest to the brake pedal (and slot #12 is open on this one). Just trying to verify for sure which plug I need to try and tap into.
Hello, what is this book, where can I see it in full ❤
I love you…
I didnt even know that the push button thing could fail like that. Popped it off and the key worked just fine. Thnks for vid!
I like the lenses. Do you remember the company that made them? I have USR lenses in my XJ and the quality is less than OEM.
Thank you sir UA-cam for another win baby Same problem, my rock fell off when I took the tire off and was laying on the inside of the tire. Luckily I took the tire off and layed It against my basketball hoop. After checking in between the rotor and plate I didn’t see anything. Checked the inside of tire and there it was.
Good video. I just change the fuel filter in our 2022 CV515 and there's a few things different. The bleeder screw is on the bottom of the housing and you need a T30 torx head to open it. A little bit of fuel comes out, maybe 1/8 cup. Then to remove the housing that contains the filter, I needed a 1-7/16" socket. In metric that's about 36mm. My socket was 12 pt and a little bit loose, so maybe a 35mm socket would be better. Certianly 6pt is preferred. Once the housing was cracked open a couple of turns, a lot more fuel comes out of the bleeder screw. When it slowed to a very little trickle, I closed it and then removed the housing that contained the filter. A lot more fuel was sitting in there. A cup full would be my guess. The replacement filter I picked up from the International dealer, it contained the large o-ring and a small o-ring. The large one was for the housing. The small one is for the post that extends down into the filter. I also took off the bleeder screw to check for presence of an o-ring and there is a one there, but its more like a flat washer than an o-ring. That did not come with the filter so I left the original in place. With it all tightened up, I followed the remainder of your tips. Two cycles of the key for 30 secs each. I could hear the fuel filling up... and I'm 3/4 deaf. 🙂 Started the truck and it ran just fine. I then navigated to the fuel filter life monitor in the DIC using the buttons on the steering wheel (different that yours). I held down the the centre button (check mark) until the dash beeped. The Oil filter reading doesn't change, but when I shut off the truck and started it again, the fuel filter reads at 100%. 👍👍
Hey how long does it idle up at 2000 for?
It depends on how dirty it is. The last one I did through a Snap-on scanner went for 38 minutes. Sometimes it goes for 20-25.
Just completed this yesterday. Excellent detailed instructions! I’m not getting any power to the steering wheel controls or horn. All the connections are tight and the heated wheel fuse is good. Would you suspect a faulty clock spring?
Yes, that sounds like the likely suspect. The ribbon inside can break easily and if it was put back in the box and returned before you got it that sounds like a pretty easy scenario.
@@kevefox ok thanks! I have a new one on order. Much appreciated!
Bro, you just saved my life
Thanks for the tip. My fourth number was scraped off the sticker but i played the guessing game until i figured it out.
Mine had this problem I was stuck for a hr before I thought to unhook the positive on battery for 15 seconds , IT WORKED AND MY CAR WAS BACK ON THE ROAD
You know…the wrecker was not in the correct position at all for the winch out. Put the rear of the truck more perpendicular to the casualty, either hook one line to each wheel and shimmy it up, or one line to the rear so the truck will turn rear first towards you and you’re not fighting 4 tires side ways digging in.
Ok, I’ll keep that in mind.
It works thanks
I need get that harness with the 3 wires I ordered oem harness didn't come with that
thank you for sharing! Will need this knowledge again soon!
I got out and kicked the rear bumper after being parked on a weird hill. Apparently there is some stupid sensor back there. It worked I’m back driving. What a dumb feature.
Yes, this doesn't help when your brand new denali. With 600 miles on it, Ignition doesn't work.
Worked great for me, not a drop of oil drained when I swapped out the oil plugs. 👍
I see it's helped people but at the same time I wonder how many cars were put in neutral and pushed away. Knowledge is dangerous depending who uses it.
Does your steering column not lock?
I found this but that all I've found
Great video straight to the point. Thank you very much.
Thanks, I hate it when you’re trying to look something up and you first have to hear about the neighbor’s chicken and the weather blah blah……
Ummm, come over for about the length of this video, please! While you're here, you can record an updated version if you like, lol!
Thanks for this
Your truck is a 2500, will these parts work on a 1500? I have a 2016 GMC sierra 1500 and want to do this conversion.
You are a blessing, my family was stuck 14 hours away in a different state. I did my research and found this video. It worked and now they are on they way back to Texas. Thank you again.
Great to hear! Tell them to watch out for Tactical Possums (Armadillos)
@@kevefox I will
I just heard about this today because my brand new UVCH harness threw a P1316 code. I removed the driver’s side and discovered there was zero continuity between the common (small center pin for those that may not know) and any of the 4 common injector connections (black wire side of each injector plug). Turns out the harness I bought from Full Force Diesel (not a hit on them at all) needed to be tweaked / bent down to make contact (0.001 ohms now). I read about this quarter trick on a powerstroke forum and am going to do it just as a safety measure because I cannot afford to have my daily driver go down for something that can be prevented for just $0.50 (both sides).
I have this issue intermittently. Thanks for the video, now I know how to test for this possible solution.
If you remove the starter relay will this prevent the car from starting at all?
Thank you very much.
That’s just f**king retarded!!!! Thank you!!!!!
TYSM THATS WHY IT DIDNT UPDATE YOU ARE LITERALLY THE MAN😁😁🥳🥳
Great video detailed step by step...
Excellent video ! I am on vacation in Florida and will be doing this tomorrow….Thank you😊
Ok i need help , 2016 santa fe v6 . I checked starter fuse is good , i exchanged relay , didnt work . I bypass with wire the relay and keys in ignition didnt start . Now im guessing starter wires to see if its well connected . If they are it means its the starter ? Thanks in advance .
Hello there, I am having the same issue on my 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport. Did you figure out the problem?
Would it hurt to just remove it? I’m not trying to go back-and-forth every time I wanna get out of park.
hey tinkering fox, ive been following all your work on the gm uofitter switches and havent been able to find the video you were working on to explain the entire process. did you ever finish that video?
Thanks just changed out my heater with this video. I have a 2015 and the torq screws for the straps was not t-30 it was t-40 for my truck and stripped one out caused some pain but got it fixed.
Thanks for the no-BS video. Straight to the point
off subkect but found you post on some information on the gm upfitter swicthes and making a video explaining them. did you ever post that video? stuff trying to gt my upfitter switches working
Just did this for my 2015 GMC Yukon and works perfectly for my iPhone 13 Pro. Thank you Sir!!
You nailed it today! 👍🏻😀
any chance of a similar modification for the 2024 GMC with a center console?
Not sure, I have a ‘22 1500 & a ‘22 3500 with a ‘24 3500 on order. I’m adding some stuff like a safe and strobes/switches to one of the ‘22s soon. I’ll be looking closely at them.
@@kevefox trying to figure out a stash pocket in the GMC 1500 with center console while at my local accessory shop. I suggested the area under the cup holder may work. Pull out the rubber insert and use a hole saw to open the bottom. Then drop in a ABS or PVC pipe cap. If there is enough depth, maybe a short section of 2" or 3" pipe or even a cleanout fitting (closed with a flush screw plug). The residual lip on the bottom should be enough to support the rubber cup holder bottom
Thank you god bless you
Hi! I have a 2015 Sierra 1500 All Terrain. Will this upgrade work on my truck with P/Ns 84053921, and 23381964?
84883771 www.gmpartsdirect.com/oem-parts/gm-black-steering-wheel-84483771 Is for a black wheel with heat. Without crash. 84483784 is with heat/crash 23381964 is the clock spring with heat. www.gmpartsdirect.com/oem-parts/gm-black-steering-wheel-84483771 The wheel P/N you listed might be fine but an older number, superseded.
@@kevefox do you know if they make a heated wheel with the all terrain finish? My dash has the Red stitching and the darker grey accent rather than the silver? I can find it only for the 2500/3500.

Just ordered my switch, thinking of ordering the harness from gamboa. Will his harness wire in just like yours?
Yes, Phil’s wiring is exactly the same. It will save you a lot of time.
nice work great video ❤😊
